Today in beginning drama we are talking about how to create a voice for a character. To start that discussion we were practicing changing pitch, volume and rate of speech. I had students get into groups and come up with a short exercise to practice changing one of the these parts of speech. In my beginning drama class, one group came up with saying "Hey" at different pitches and volumes. The exercise reminded me of this video, so I decided to show it to them at the end of class. It is 30 seconds and didn't take a lot of time. They had fun watching it and it made me feel like I was relaxing and being more fun and spontaneous as I taught.
